Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a gentle, body-centered approach that helps release stress and trauma stored in the nervous system. Rather than retelling painful stories, SE helps us tune into the body’s wisdom (sensations, images, impulses, and rhythms) as a guide.

It works with the body’s natural survival patterns, like fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, to support completion and release of what has been “stuck.”

So many of us carry the weight of past experiences: from childhood, an overwhelming event or accident, or a slow build-up of daily stress. Over time, this can leave us feeling on edge, shut down, or disconnected from ourselves and others. SE offers a way to gently unwind these patterns and come back into balance, resilience, and ease.

Sessions are collaborative and flexible. Together, we create space for your body’s wisdom to unfold at its own pace, while building resources that support safety and grounding. The focus is on slowing down, cultivating connection, and helping you feel more at home in yourself.

Somatic Experiencing can be supportive for healing trauma, reducing anxiety, navigating stress, or deepening your connection with your body. Each session is an invitation to come home to yourself—one step at a time. If this approach resonates with you, you can book a session to get started. I’d love to support you.

Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.
